Will my chocolate covered pretzels look funny?

by Laura Mannino
(Oakdale, NY)

Will my chocolate covered pretzels look funny when I take them out of the fridge after already storing them in there?

Hi, I just made fully covered chocolate covered pretzel with the big fat sour dough pretzels. I did coatings, drizzles, they look so pretty!

I put them ALL in a an air tight container and put them in the fridge. I don't need them for another 6 days for my niece's communion...

....When I take them out of the fridge, will they look funny? Will all my hard work be a waste? I used Merckens melting chocolate and its tastes and looks FABULOUS!

I read that if I take them out of the fridge now after I put them in there, that the chocolate will change in appearance because of the change in room temperatures????? Yes?????? HELP! All my hard work!!! :(

Hi Laura,

Oh, I wish I could give you a definite answer about whether or not your chocolate covered pretzels will look funny when you take them out of the fridge.

The answer is "Maybe, maybe not!" Sometimes they still look great, and other times they get a bit of bloom.

Since you put them in an airtight container, try this... When you take the container out of the fridge, immediately wrap the whole container in a bath towel and let it come to room temperature gradually.

This may cut down on the amount of condensation that is built up on the chocolate - which is one of the offending issues.

I sooooooo hope that your chocolate covered pretzels for your nieces communion are a lovely and delicious hit.

Did you take any photos of the chocolate pretzels? If not, take some if you can once you've freed them from the fridge on the big day. I'd love to see them. They sound so yummy I can almost picture them. :)

Blessings,
Angie
