Where To Put Chocolate While Cooling

by Todd

Where to put chocolates while cooling to prevent from bugs & sweating?

Where would I put the chocolates to cool down while in my apartment without worrying bugs and insects getting to them?

Also for them to not sweat if kept inside something while cooling. To refrigerate would ruin chocolates by soaking up scents & whitening them.

Hi Todd,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Somehow I missed this post and just saw it.

How hot is your apartment?

You can normally leave chocolates on a counter to "set" if the temperature isn't too hot in the room. It shouldn't take too long so bugs/insects shouldn't be too much of an issue.

If you are definitely worried about bugs, place them in an airtight container to set or cover them with an upturned container.

If your apartment is just too hot for this, you're going to have to take your chances with the refrigerator or freezer.

If you place the chocolates in an airtight container before putting them in the fridge, they won't absorb the fridge smells.

The freezer won't usually cause smells either. You'll just want to make sure that you allow the chocolates to return to room temperature with the lid on when you take them out of the fridge or freezer.

I can't guarantee they won't bloom (white/gray), but that's the only alternative I can think of to a too warm apartment.

Hope it works for you!
Blessings,
Angie

P.S. Thank you so much for your kind suggestions for my dear mother and her cancer battle. Sadly for me, she went to be with the Lord in January, so she's all better now. I do appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughtful suggestions.
