What can I use to write letters on a lollipop?

I want to write letters on a lollipop. I am making baseball lollipops. They are half rounds. The lady wants NY on them for the Yankees.

I didn't know if I could use melted chocolate and what would I put it in. The surface is not flat. I thought if I used candy, can I use a decorating bag? Or can I use canned icing, would it even stick?
Help...this is a project due in 2 weeks.

Writing on lollipops is a cute idea. I assume you are referring to chocolate lollipops made from chocolate molds.

If that is the case, I personally would just melt some white chocolate (or chocolate in a contrasting color to your lollipop) and place it in a small plastic ziploc bag. Just snip off the corner and use that to write the letters NY on your lollipop and allow it to set.

If you already have a decorating bag with a small writing tip, that would work well, too.

I wouldn't suggest you try the canned icing because it probably won't harden enough. Although Royal Icing might work in a pinch.

If you are actually making hard candy lollipops instead of chocolate, I don't know if the chocolate will stick to the candy. I suspect it won't. The Royal Icing might be the best option in that case.

I'd love to see a picture of the finished lollipops when your project is done. Do come back and add it here.

Have fun!

Writing on Lollipops

Hi, If all else fails perhaps you could put the lollipop in a plastic bag with a label printed from the computer with N.Y. on it.
