Valentine Gifts For Men

Valentine Gifts For Men

Red, Red, Red

My Valentine idea started on our first Valentine's Day as newlyweds. We didn't have a lot of money and so I made a card for my husband telling him how much he meant to me and how glad I was that we were married. I still do this even though 45 years have gone by!

I also cook and bake "red" since red is the color of Valentine's Day.

Cooking red can mean any one of a number of dishes. Anything pasta with a red sauce, BBQ spareribs, chili, casseroles that use a lot of tomato sauce or home made pizza.

This year we have decided on a "pie" whose crust is hamburger with your favorite seasonings and tomato sauce and filled with cooked rice, more tomato sauce and cheddar cheese. CD Kitchen has a good recipe for this dish.

Dessert is a fruit pie (cherry or strawberry) or a red cake (yep! that one!) or even red jello and whipped cream.

Valentine's Day is a sweet as you make it! Enjoy!

Hi Fran,

They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so I guess homemade food makes wonderful Valentine Gifts for men. :)

I love the idea of making it a "red" theme for Valentine's Day. I suppose you could also make it a "green" theme for St. Patrick's Day, and so forth.

Thanks for adding your creative ideas for Valentine's Day!
