Valentine gift for husband - Romantic dinner for two!


Monday, Feb. 13, started as any other day, but at 7pm on the arrival of my husband coming home from work it changed and became a very romantic evening.


As my husband walked thru the door of our home he was carrying three beautiful red roses in a pink bottle vase, (three red roses a memory from our dating - a rose for each year we were engaged).


As he handed them to me he said, "Let's have Valentines Day now because tomorrow is too far away, and then we have to wait until I get home from work."


Awe, what a way to melt a girl's heart! So, because I was not expecting this I was not prepared and my gift was not ready to give.


My husband then said, "Let's watch a movie while we eat and I will let you chose a girly movie." So, we watched Sabrina, ate our dinner, and snuggled on the couch.


For dessert we had a milk chocolate Cadbury bar and sparkling grape juice which he also provided. No girl could ask for more.


Our valentine celebration lasted two days this year because my gift to him was a specially prepared dinner which I had planned for Tuesday Feb, 14.


I set the table with a white lace cloth and red dinner plates, a center piece that held a small valentine balloon and two small red votive candles.

I then started on the dinner:

• Crusted Chicken Breast with a White Sauce
  
• Roasted Tomatoes
  
• Baked Zuchinni
  
• New Potatoes.

Yum! For Valentine dessert there was chocolate dipped strawberries with whipped cream and pound cake.


In all, I think our Valentine's Days Feb. 13-14, 2012, was a complete success and I have had 35 of them to compare. Yes, after 35 years of marriage he still loves me and I adore him.
