Valentine Crafts For Kids - Send a Valentine Hug
Spread your arms wide; measure the distance. Find a piece of wrapping paper or butcher paper that length. Cut it into 8 inch strips. Fold one strip in half. At the end OPPOSITE the fold, trace and outline of your hand. Cutting both layers at the same time, cut around your hand shape, leaving the 'arm' connected all the way to the fold.
Open the strip. You now have a long strip with one hand at each end.
With a marker (or crayon, if on paper), write "This HUG's for YOU!" or "A Valentine's Hug from Me!" in large letters, all the way from one hand to the other. Sign your name.
Roll the Valentine Hug card and tie with a ribbon to deliver personally. OR: Fold accordion-style and place the hug inside an envelope.
Repeat with the other strips to make additional 'Hug' cards.
I taught elementary school for 30 years. I don't remember when I first came up with this Valentine crafts for kids idea, but my students sure got a kick out of making such a BIG Valentine card.
