Valentine Card Ideas
I Love YOU Because..........
It's important to me to teach my children to love, honor, respect, and admire their brothers and sisters. It's one of those top "mommy things" I strive to do.
I found a way to encourage these attitudes in my children and their relationships with one another.
Each year during the month of February I cut out big hearts from pink and red construction paper or craft paper. On each heart I write this phrase with a marker.
"I Love You Because ___________."
I prepare enough hearts for every child to write an individual note for each member of the family. I give the children the hearts a few days before Valentines Day so they can have time to think and fill them out with their amazing kind words (hopefully).
During our family Valentine's Day celebration we share these Valentine card ideas with one another.
As the Mom, I really love to hear what each child has written about their siblings. For that moment at least, I feel my children really do love, honor, admire, and respect each other... until the next sibling squabble breaks out.
Hi Trisha,
Thanks for adding your lovely Valentine card ideas. I really think it's a precious idea to help your kiddos to take time to really appreciate their brothers and sisters.
Your
