Can I use hard candy molds to make chocolate candy and vise versa?

Yes, you can use hard candy molds to make molded chocolate, but not always vise-versa.


Depending on the quality of the chocolate mold and what it is made of, you can sometimes use them for making hard candy.


You have to remember that the temperature of the hard candy mixture is MUCH (about 3x) hotter than the temperature of melted chocolate.


In some cheaper plastic molds, your hot candy mixture will cause the candy molds to melt. That would leave you with a big mess. :)
