Unmolding Chocolate Pour Boxes

by Janie
(Tennessee)

I am having a terrible time unmolding chocolate pour boxes. Does anyone have any tips on how to unmold large pour boxes?

I have tried refrigerating them longer, putting them in the freezer, spraying the mold with Pam, "polishing" the mold with shortening.

Help -- I have baskets and boxes to do for Easter and I'm at a loss!

Removing chocolate box from mold... NEW

You might try chilling it for a couple of minutes in the freezer to see if that allows it to naturally release.

Turkey Box Trouble NEW
by: Debbie Ventimiglia

I'm trying to unmold the box part to make turkey boxes for Thanksgiving. The first one gave me a little trouble, then popped out. That one was milk chocolate. The second one refuses to come out. It's dark chocolate. I'm using the wafer chocolates you get at the craft store. Brand is Make & Mold but this box does not want to come loose. I tried coconut oil to grease it, nada. HELP!

What kind of chocolate are you using? Try a high viscosity chocolate. Maybe your chocolate is too thick?

Is it couverture chocolate? Where you have to temper it?

Let us know how you make out!
