Transport Chocolate Bars

by Cathie
(Mazon, lL)

Oh no! I have to transport 75 chocolate bars from Illinois to California in June!

Ok, I have made my chocolate bars with a mold approx 3x2x1/2....flavored with peppermint, wrapped in embossed cake foil/paper, tied with ribbon....I need to transport from Illinois by plane to California then drive for 6 hours to destination.

They will need to sit for 5 days until they will be used as a party favor on Friday evening. ANY IDEAS????????

Hi Cathie,

Your chocolate bars sound lovely! If you can take a photo and let us see them, that would be terrific.

As for how to transport chocolate bars safely, since you are taking them yourself, rather than mailing them, can you put them in a cooler or even a chiller bag?

If you go that route, you can use the little freezer packs, but wrap them in a towel so that they don't create moisture. You just want to keep the temperature low enough to keep the chocolate from melting.

Once you get to your destination, will the house/hotel you are staying at be air conditioned? If so, the room temperature should be moderate enough to allow the molded chocolate favors to remain at room temperature until the big day.

Have fun!
Angie
