Store Homemade Chocolate

by Donna

Can I store homemade chocolate out of the fridge?

I made homemade chocolate for a party I'm having in 3 weeks. They are boxed and I need to know how I can store them out of the fridge.

Hi Donna,

If your homemade chocolates are pretty basic with no added ingredients that you have to worry about going "off" there is no reason why you can't store your boxed chocolates at room temperature and NOT in the refrigerator.

In fact, I definitely prefer storing chocolate out of the fridge so that you don't have to worry about condensation build up or any discoloration of the chocolates.

I guess the main concern you would have is to be sure that there is a moderate temperature in the home (not too hot or the chocolates will melt), and that you keep the boxed chocolates away from any strong smells.

Chocolate does absorb smells easily, so keep them away from onions, garlic, potpourri, scented candles, etc. :)

I hope your party is a great success!

Blessings,
Angie
