Red Chocolate

I am making red chocolate roses and some of them are white when removed from the mold or the shine is not there. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using red candy melts?

Are you letting the molded roses set at room temperature?

Did you lightly oil the mold first?

lightly oil the mold?

What would you use too lightly oil the mold to make them shiny? I didn't know this part

Oil Your Molds
by: Angie

You don't always have to oil your molds, but if you are having trouble with discoloration, it is sometimes helpful to do so.

I would use the tiniest bit of Crisco shortening or a drop of coconut oil or vegetable oil to lightly coat the mold.

After using the molds a few times, they should be "seasoned" and won't need this prepping.
