Recipe For Grasshoppers Candy

by Connie
(Washington state)

I am looking for an old recipe for "grasshoppers" candy, (not the insects) a mint center covered in chocolate. We called them grasshoppers. They are a chocolate covered mint flavored fondant center candy.

Hi Connie,

Why not try using one of the fondant recipes and kneading in your favorite mint flavor (peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen, etc.) and then dipping in melted chocolate?

Does anyone else have any idea where to Connie can find that old recipe for Grasshoppers Candy?

~Angie

Connie,
What Angie suggested is a great idea! I did mint patties (like the York peppermint patties) like that. I did marshmellow fondant and left it white and flavored it with peppermint oil. they came out great!
