Pricing Flavored Mints

by Lee W
(Terre Haute, IN)

I've been making candy and mints for several years, but the last year or two, I've not been too active.

I know the prices of materials have gone up considerably and would like suggestions on how to calculate a fair price for flavored mints? The order is for 600.

Suggestions, please. Thank you.

Hi Lee,

To give you a general idea of the "going rate" for pricing flavored mints, we would kind of need a bit better description of what you are making.

Size, ingredients, method, etc., would be helpful. Are you referring to molded chocolate mint candies or a powdered sugar and cream cheese mint, or something else entirely?

To determine how much you should charge, I would calculate how much your ingredients will cost for the number you need to make and then at least double it.

If they are time consuming to make, you should add on more for that.

Browse around the various online candy shops and see how much they are going for already made up (if you can find something similar) and let that be your guide.

We'd love to have your recipe added here if you don't mind sharing it. :)

Blessings,
Angie
