Pom Pom Chicks and Rabbits

Pom Pom Chicks and Rabbits

Simple and cute, you to can make Pom pom chicks and rabbits for Easter!

Materials Needed:

  • Wool (yarn)
  • Cardboard
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

Use something round to trace Pom pom stencils out of cardboard. I have found that sticky tape often appears to be the right size and will give you your outer and inner circles.

Those who have made pom poms before would know that you need to remove the inner circle and will require 2 bits of cardboard cut exactly the same.

Using several strands of wool, different shades if you prefer, twist wool round and round to completely cover cardboard. The thicker you can cover the cardboard the more hardy your pom pom will end up.

For chicks you should use yellow shades and for rabbits use white shades.

Once formed, the pom poms just require eyes, a triangle for a beak and some feet for the chicks. Use orange card to cut these pieces out and the hot glue gun to stick them on your pom poms. The rabbits obviously require ears and a smaller pom pom on the back for a bunny tail.

Be as creative as you can, it is all up to your imagination!

Hi Melinda,

These little chicks and rabbit pom poms are adorable! The rabbits will make wonderful Easter bunny crafts for kids. That seems to be something people are always on the lookout for at this time of year. :)

Actually, I think the chicks are very sweet, too. I was thinking you could use felt instead of colored cardboard if you want for a "softer" effect.

Those who want to make Easter crafts for children will find these pom poms an easy and practical project.

Thanks again for sharing this here!
Blessings,
Angie
