Painting Molded Chocolates

I'm making chocolate molded turtles for a wedding. I want to paint the tops of them the wedding colors. I have seen this done and they are beautiful. What do I use to do this with?

Hi S,

To paint molded chocolates, the easiest thing to do is get colored chocolate melts in the wedding colors. You'll find a nice selection at Candyland Crafts.

If they have the colors you need, all you have to do is melt the colored wafers as you would melt regular chocolate. Then, get yourself a new little paint brush and "paint" the details of the mold in the appropriate colors before finishing off the rest of the turtle mold with the regular chocolate of your choice.

If you don't like the candy wafers, you can tint white chocolate using chocolate candy coloring. Once you get the shade you are looking for, you can proceed with painting molded chocolates as described above.

I hope you'll take a photo of the molded wedding chocolate turtles when you're finished and upload it here for us to see.
