Name That Candy Bar Game

name that candy bar game

The Name That Candy Bar game is a fun challenge for anyone with a sweet tooth, and can really get a party off to a great start!

If you're a chocolate lover like I am, then you will have a pretty god chance of winning this match.

If you want a game that people will remember (kids and adults alike), this is just the game for you.

There are a couple of different ways you can play a game where you have to "name that candy bar."

Of course, the one I like the best is where you actually get to eat the chocolate!

You start by dividing the group into teams. Then you take turns blindfolding each player and giving them a piece of a well known candy bar from a selection on a tray that you have prepared ahead of time.

The object is for the person to guess the name of the candy bar by taste alone. No peeking and no hints allowed! :) They only get one guess so they need to be sure they think about it before giving their answer.

Each time a player gets a correct answer, their team gets a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

What better prize to give the winners than.... ...chocolate, of course! :)

Another Name That Candy Bar Game...

If you want a different idea for playing the Name That Candy Bar game, without actually using chocolate, I have another suggestion for you.

This, too, is a guessing game, but unlike the first name that candy bar game, you don't guess based on taste. Instead, you have to make your guess based on clues that are provided to you.

Let me give you some clue ideas to help you get started...

  • Legendary baseball superstar (Baby Ruth)
  • Famous New York City street (5th Avenue)
  • A galaxy far, far away (Milky Way)
  • The red planet (Mars)
  • Superman's alter ego (Clark bar)
  • Pitchers position (Mounds)
  • Famous author (O'Henry)
  • Twin letters (M&M's)
  • Secretive laughter (Snickers)
  • D'Artagnan's friends (Three Musketeers)
  • Nutty happiness (Almond Joy)
  • Employee's favorite day (Payday)
  • Can't hold onto anything (Butterfinger)
  • When you can't remember (Watchamacallit)

I'm sure you can come up with more than that. Those chocolate bars are mostly available in the US, but if you're in other countries, like Australia, you can use your local candy bar names to create your own clues.

For instance...

  • Enjoying a spin (Twirl)
  • Give someone a lift (Boost)
  • Not quite dandruff (Flake)
  • A fun day at the park (Picnic)
  • Take a break (Time Out)
  • Exercise for your abs (Crunchie)
  • A fruit that's ready to eat (Cherry Ripe)
  • Thicken your cream (Whip)
  • A nice time in Istanbul (Turkish Delight)
  • Reach for your goals (Dream)

One way to play this particular name that candy bar game is to print out all of the clues on a piece of paper and make copies so that you have one for each person.

Give the players a set time to try to figure out as many names as possible (maybe 5 minutes) and then give the answers one by one. The person who has the most candy bar names correct wins the game.

A nice large chocolate candy bar would make the perfect prize! Be prepared for ties, just in case.
