My Chocolate Marshmallows Mess

My chocolate marshmallows mess!
Hi. I love making candies with my children. Well I thought for Father's Day that I would make my dad chocolate covered marshmallows. He likes them.
Everything went like usual, except when I boxed them to take to his house which is only a 5 minute drive by the time I got there I had a horrible chocolate mess.
Please can someone let me know if there is something you can use in your melted chocolate so that it doesn't get runny at the first feel of heat.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Lisa,
I hope your dad enjoyed the homemade chocolate marshmallow candy, even if they were a bit messy! :~)
There are only 2 things I can think of that would be of help. The first would be to
temper the chocolate which would give it a more stable finish.
The second option is to get some food-grade paraffin (wax) and add a little into your melting chocolate (about a tsp or so) which should help it to set a little more firmly.
You can usually find paraffin in the grocery store either in the baking section or where they sell canning supplies (used for making jams and jellies).
Anyone else have any suggestions?
