Making Truffles

I found a recipe for making truffles, and I have 2 questions.

First, the recipe says to whip the cream cheese and fold in melted chocolate until mixed then put in fridge til it is ready to roll in balls. Can I put a flavoring in the cream cheese like strawberry or something?

Second, do I have to mix cream cheese with melted chocolate?

Hi Carmen,

Yes, you can put a flavoring in your cream cheese if you like.

There's a yummy recipe for strawberry fudge truffles that actually uses strawberry preserves rather than a flavoring.

But really, you could play with it and create almost any flavor you prefer.

I'm not sure what you mean about mixing the cream cheese with the melted chocolate. Do you mean can you leave the chocolate out altogether?

I suppose you could leave out the chocolate, but you'd probably want to mix something in with the cream cheese, otherwise it would just be cream cheese. :-) Maybe blend in some crushed cookies, sweetened condensed milk, etc.?

You'd have to do some experimenting to come up with something that really worked. If you create a delicious masterpiece, I hope you'll share it with us here. :-)

Have Fun!
