Jelly Filling For Chocolates

by Mary
(Tenino, WA)

How do I make the jelly filling for the center of molded chocolates?

I tried some at the mall and would like to make my own but have never made a molded chocolate before.

Mary LaJoie

Hi Mary!

Mmmm. I love filled chocolates. What kind of recipe are you looking for exactly?

There' a page of instructions for cream filled chocolate candy flavors using fondant as the base.

There are also instructions on how to mold chocolate candy since this is your first time. It's not difficult at all. You'll have fun doing it.

You can also just use your favorite jam or jelly if you prefer.

I like to save time and just purchase my filling of choice from Candyland Crafts or One Stop Candle. They are SO inexpensive and make the whole process very simple.

If you are looking for a specific type of jelly filling for chocolates recipe, give us a bit more info. and see if someone can offer up some more help.

Jellied Filling for Chocolates
by: WannaBe Chocolatier

I would like to take her question a bit further, if you possibly have the answer for it. I would like to impersonate the jellied/gelatin filling in your everyday garden variety box of chocolates. To be specific, raspberry, maybe orange marmalade, something on those lines.

Turkish Delight Recipe for Gel Filled Chocolates?
by: Angie

I was thinking about this today and wondered if you could perhaps use a Turkish Delight recipe to make gel filled chocolates like you are describing.

I know exactly what you mean because the raspberry filled chocolate candy are some of my absolute favorites.

Fry's makes a Turkish Delight candy bar that is chocolate covered and it got me wondering if you could just use one of the many online recipes for Turkish Delight to create your own flavored version.

I haven't tried it myself yet, so I can't guarantee it will work, but I can't think of a good reason why it wouldn't work! :)

The basic candy is sugar, water, and gelatin with your favorite flavoring added.

Let me know if you give this a try and what kind of results you get.
