How To Add Flavoring To Chocolate

by Andrea Magouirk

I would like to know how to add flavoring to chocolate white wafers?

I've been making hard candy lollipops and just started to make the chocolate candy. I was wondering, if I wanted to flavor the white wafers either mint or any other flavor, what would I use?

Hi Andrea,

When adding flavor to chocolate, you want to be sure to use flavor oils. If you use something that contains water, you run the risk of ruining your chocolate because the water content can make the chocolate seize up and become stiff and unmanageable.

They have wonderful and inexpensive flavor oils for chocolate at Candyland Crafts. The oils are very highly concentrated and a little goes a long way. The selection is really large. I was just drooling over the "Canadian Maple" specialty flavoring for chocolate. Mmmmm!

I'd love to see your lollipops! Take some photos and show them off here.

Have fun!
