How many pounds of chocolate wafers?

by L

How many pounds of chocolate wafers would you need to make chocolate candies for a wedding of 200 people?

Hi L,

It depends on the size of the chocolates you are making and how many you want per person, of course.

If you are talking about small molded chocolates, you can usually make about 32 pieces per pound, because they generally hold about 1/2 ounce each.

If you are making larger molded chocolates, like lollipops, then you'll only get about 16 lollipops per pound (1 ounce each).

So, for example, if you wanted to make small bite-sized chocolates and allow for 2 per person, you would need about 13 pounds of chocolate wafers. Make sense?

You can get the chocolate wafers at Candyland Crafts and they also have the colored wafers, too, not to mention the molds.

I hope you'll take some photos of your wedding favor chocolate and show them off to us here when you get them finished!
