How many monograms can I make with 1 bag of candy melts?

by TM

I need to know how many monograms can I make with 1 bag of candy melts?

I want to make baby shower cookies with the letter K on them. It is a large sugar cookie and I wasn't sure how many bags of candy melts I should buy.

Hi TM,

I need a bit more information to give you an accurate answer.

Are you dipping the cookies in the candy melts? Or are you just using a chocolate mold for the letter K monogram and plan to attach the letter to the top of the cookie with a little melted chocolate?

If you have small chocolate mold for the monogrammed letters, you can usually get about 32 pieces per pound. If it's the larger cavities for big monogrammed letters, you'll probably only get about 16 per pound.

If you ARE planning on dipping the cookies, that's a whole different calculation. It would depend on the size of the cookies, and how thick you make the coating, etc.

For that type of guesswork, you probably need to do a sample batch to determine exactly how many you can get out of one pound/bag.

Of course, if you have to do a trial run, I'm sure no one in the family will complain about having to eat your experiments! :~)

Hope that gives you some help anyway. Don't forget, we'd love to see your finished baby shower cookie favors when you get them done.

Just take some photos and add them using the form on our chocolate party favor page.

All the best with it!
Angie
