Hard Milk Chocolate Candy

by K.N

Hard Milk Chocolate Candy

My aunty makes this chocolate candy which is hard and can be broken into pieces. So I think this recipe will work for molds also, though I haven't tried molds myself as yet.

Ingredients needed:

  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Milk Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 Level Tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • 50 grams Butter

Method To Follow:

  1. Sieve together the milk powder and cocoa powder and set it aside.

  2. Put the sugar and water in a thick bottomed pan and heat it slowly while stirring until sugar dissolves completely.

  3. Now bring the mixture to a boil over moderate heat. Add the butter. Do not stir once it starts boiling.

  4. Check the consistency of the syrup frequently. Turn off the heat once the syrup reaches two threads consistency or the soft ball stage (see candy syrup stages).

  5. Quickly add the milk powder-cocoa mix to the syrup and mix well so that no lumps remain.

  6. Pour into a greased plate. Break into pieces when cooled.

Note: Two threads consistency syrup solidifies very quickly, so make sure you complete the steps 4-6 very quickly.
