Gramma's Chocolate Funnel Kissies

by Julie B.
(California)

Gramma's Chocolate Funnel Kissies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c butter (soft)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2-3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 oz pg cream cheese (soft)
  • 1/2 c. cocoa

You will need several funnels of whatever size you desire. My Gramma always did one large one for each of us. But you can do a bunch of little ones and wrap them up in foil after they're cooled to keep in your candy dish. Lots of options with this one.

First thing you'll want to do is wrap all of your funnels completely in foil.

The traditional way to make these is to hand mix all the ingredients. I like to use a wooden spoon. Make sure the butter and the cream cheese are super soft so they're easy to combine.

In a separate bowl, sift (or whisk) the powdered sugar and cocoa). Mix the cream cheese and the butter together in a larger bowl. Add the vanilla, mix well. Slowly add the dry ingredients. Pour into the prepared funnels. Let set in fridge a couple minutes (no longer then 5), and put in freezer until completely frozen.

Remove from freezer. Unwrap if you want to shape (gently shaving with butter knife) and re-wrap later, or wrap completely using the foil that's on the out side of the funnel. You'll probably want to store them in the fridge.

Get creative with this recipe - use different molds (the silicon cookie sheets work great) and try using different varieties of melted chocolate if you're a little more advanced to get different flavors.

Thanks Julie!

Your Gramma's Chocolate Funnel Kissies sound interesting indeed. I'm having trouble picturing it in my mind, though.

Are you planning to make them this Christmas? If so, it would be super if you can take a photo and send it to me here at angie @ chocolate-candy-mall.com (remove the spaces) and I can add them to the page so everyone will have a better idea of how to make them.

Thanks again for passing down the recipe!

Merry Christmas!
~Angie
