Food Safety License for Chocolate Candy Business

by Samantha
(NJ)

Do you know if you need to have a food safety license or something like that for the state of NJ to run a chocolate candy business from home? Or could you give me any more information that you're aware of on any certifications or licenses that you need?

Hi Samantha,

I'm sorry to say that I don't know whether or not a Food Safety License for Chocolate Candy Business at home is required in the state of New Jersey or not.

Your best bet is probably to contact your local county offices and inquire there. If they don't know, they should be able to direct you to the appropriate office to get an "official" answer.

Sounds like a fun business to start, except I'd probably be eating all the stock!

All the best to your success with it,
Angie

Hi!
I know in NY, you cannot do so (legally). I suggest you contact your local Health Department.

Good Luck. I wanted to do the same thing!
