Fondant Question...

I have a Fondant question...

Is it possible/easy to use rolled fondant in candy molds? I have a present candy mold I used to make chocolate candies.

I was wanting to fill the fondant lined molds with a cake/frosting mixture (bake cake as directed, and when cooled mix with frosting) I saw here.

I'm not sure though. I've looked online on other sites but I can't find any information. Help please! Thanks.

I really don't see why you couldn't do this, Madalena. I think it may depend on the particular fondant you make.

I saw a rolled fondant at Candyland Crafts called Satin Ice. It is extremely pliable and able to be rolled quite thin and still be handled.

I imagine that's what you'd be aiming for with using it in molds. In fact, they mention fondant molds on their fondant tools and accessories page, so it must be 'do-able.'

Give it a try and let us know how it turns out. You've got my curiosity going. Has anyone else used fondant to make filled candies with molds?

Have fun!

textured pins

How do you get the fondant up and on the sides of a cake, after you have used the textured pins on the fondant, so as not to stretch out the design, and yet still smooth out the side of the cake? Thank You DeLoris
