Fix Chocolate Icing On Cake

by Kay

I need to fix chocolate icing on cake.

How do you get good smooth melted chocolate without meting down any?

I have no chocolate to melt down, but I need something to put on my cake because the frosting turned out very very bad and I already put it on there.

How do I fix it?

Hi Kay,

I'm not 100% sure I'm understanding your question and your situation, but I'll do my best. :)

If you already have icing on the cake but it's unattractive, you may want to try dipping a butter knife in very hot water and trying to smooth the surface of the icing. Keep dipping the knife in the water to keep the knife hot.

If that doesn't work, you could make another little icing to add on top of what you already have.

Mix together some cocoa powder (1/4 - 1/2 cup), 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla, a couple tsps. of milk and some powdered sugar (till you get the right consistency) and try covering what you've done.

I wish I could be more help. Let me know if I've misunderstood you or if one of these options works for you. You can use the comment link below.

Blessings,
Angie
