Fathers Day Craft Ideas

fathers day craft ideas

Fathers Day craft ideas don't have to be elaborate or expensive. You can make adorable gifts for Father's Day without spending a lot of money.

I've made crafts for Father's Day as a child, and I've helped my Sunday school kids make them many times since I've been an adult. I think it is as much fun for the children making the Father's Day gift as it is for the Dad receiving it.

If you have a lot of crafts to make, I can understand why you'd want to find the best prices. I'm a frugal gal, too, and always on the lookout for a bargain.

I'll give you a fun chocolate candy idea in a moment, but first let me mention the craft kits available at Oriental Trading.

I buy from them on a regular basis because they have simple, easy-to-assemble, craft kits made up and ready to use. You can usually get a kit that makes at least 12 for between $5-$10. That is pretty good value.

Here's an extra tip: Use their search feature and just type in "Dad" to bring back ideas for Father's Day.

Even if you don't find exactly what you are looking for, there's a good chance you'll pick up a clever idea that you can use as a starting place for your own creativity in coming up with a Father's Day craft that suits your needs.

For even more ideas, here are a couple of books that offer Father's Day craft ideas, too, that you can add to your library.

I always love making edible gifts, and my favorite thing to eat is chocolate! Molded chocolate candy is a fun and safe craft project for Father's Day because chocolate melts at low temperatures.

It's also great fun making molded chocolate candy. Certainly you can just use basic white, milk, or dark chocolate, but you can go berserk, too.

If you get some colored chocolate melts and a package of mini paint brushes, you can "paint" in the details of the chocolate molds in colored chocolate first before filling them up with regular chocolate. The kids will love that!

There are adorable chocolate molds for Father's Day at Candyland Crafts as well as all the supplies you'll need.

If you've never made molded chocolates before, here are some simple instructions on how to mold chocolate candy. You don't have to worry about tempering the chocolate if you are just making them for fun and not for some formal occasion.

Have Fun and Happy Father's Day!
