Cream Filled Chocolate Candy Flavors

It is difficult to choose my favorite when there are so many different cream filled chocolate candy flavors.


I really love strawberry and raspberry, but mint, maple, and coffee are quite yummy, too.


Fortunately, I don't have to settle on only just one favorite of all the flavored fillings.


First of all, I have to tell you some really great news!


If you are making your own cream filled chocolate candy, you can actually buy decorator bags already filled with a favorite creme filling. How awesome is that? 


I love the convenience of this option, especially when I am in a hurry.


You can find a delicious selection of creme filling flavors at Candyland Crafts for only a few dollars per bag.


That's a real bargain for the convenience received and the variety of cream filled chocolate candy flavors available. They also have thousands of molds to choose from if you don't already have your chocolate molds.


Of course, you can make just about any flavor of cream filled chocolates by starting with a basic fondant recipe and then adding the ingredients needed to get your chosen flavor.


  1. Prepare the fondant. Tip: Cooked fondant is better if you let it set for at least 12 hours before using. Uncooked fondant is better if you use it right away.


  2. Dust a surface with powdered sugar and roll out fondant with a rolling pin. Cut a series of slits into the surface and add your flavoring ingredients (and appropriate food coloring, if desired) into the slits.


  3. Knead the fondant to distribute the ingredients evenly throughout. You can repeat the process until you get the intensity of flavor and color that you desire.


  4. Use flavored fondant to fill prepared chocolate molds, or cover in melted chocolate to make chocolate bonbons.


Filling For Chocolate Molds

If you are using the fondant for filling chocolate molds, you can pinch off small portions of the fondant and gently press into the prepared chocolate shells. Cover with remaining tempered chocolate and remove from molds when cool.


If you would rather pour your filling into the chocolate mold cases, place the fondant over double boiler and gently heat, stirring with a wooden spoon. You can add your flavoring and coloring at this point if you like. Do not allow the temperature of the fondant to exceed 140 degrees F. You only want the mixture to get fluid enough to pour.


Filling for Chocolate Bonbons

If you would like to use the fondant for chocolate bonbons, you can simply roll the flavored fondant into 1" balls and dip in tempered chocolate. Allow to cool on waxed paper until set.


You can get even more creative by rolling out the flavored filling and cutting it into shapes before coating.


No matter what method you choose to use, you will end up with mouthwatering cream filled chocolate candy flavors that will be irresistible.


Homemade Cream Filled Chocolate Candy Flavors

To create your flavored fillings you can use any flavoring, liqueur, extract, fruit juice, or powdered ingredient that you desire. Start off with a little bit or a few drops at a time until you reach the desired flavor. Here are some cream filled chocolate candy flavor ideas to get your creative juices flowing.


Coffee Essence or strong black coffee
Maple Flavoring or Extract
Peppermint Oil or Extract
Raspberry, Strawberry, Orange, Lemon or other fruit flavored oil or extract

Rum Extract
Rose Water
Violet Essence
Melted chocolate
Coconut
