Color White Chocolate With Food Coloring?

Can I colour white chocolate with food colouring?
I am just learning to make candy so, sorry, no tips yet. :-)
Thanks.
Hi Shannon,
Yes, you can color white chocolate with food coloring. It's best not to use coloring that is water based, though.
Chocolate does not like water and you may have a problem with it seizing up and becoming unmanageable.
I recommend the Wilton candy colors at
Candyland Crafts for this job. They are oil based and made specifically for tinting chocolate.
You can get a 4 pack of different colors for only $3.99 which I think is a pretty good price. It only takes a little, so use it sparingly. You can always add another drop if you want a richer or brighter colour.
I hope you'll come back and
show us what you made when you're done! Don't worry about being new to candy making. We all started at the beginning. :-)
I'm sure you'll pick up a few tips to share along the way, too.
Have fun!
