Chocolate Stain Removal from carpet can be a challenge, but it doesn't have to be a complete disaster if you know what you're doing. Here are a few "how to" steps to save your carpet and your sanity.

If you're like me and have found yourself in this unhappy position, you may want to keep reading. It could really be a lifesaver to have these little tips safely tucked up in your memory.

Trust me, I had no intention of making all the candy references, but don’t they all just fit? Anywho, back to my original thought, what was it again? That’s right, a chocolate stain remover. Okay, I’m focused now. :)

I don’t want to get all scientific on you, but there are a few things you should know. Chocolate usually contains cocoa butter and/or oil. These items are known for smearing and staining. So, the clean up process can be daunting. But, acting quickly can make all the difference in the kind of results you get.

Follow these quick and easy steps for chocolate stain removal from carpet:

  1. First of all, use a butter knife or a spoon to remove all the chocolate you can.

  2. Mix one quarter teaspoon mild detergent (like Ivory) to a cup of water.

  3. Use a clean cloth to apply the soapy water mixture to the chocolate stain (don’t be too rough, you’ll damage your carpet).

  4. Work the soap into the stain for about 10 minutes.

  5. Using another clean cloth, blot up the soap residue.

  6. Wet a paper towel folded twice on the edge and gently blot area.

  7. Let the stained area dry completely and repeat the process if necessary.

  8. Keep a chocolate snack nearby as a reward for your hard work (this time don’t drop any on the carpet). If you do, repeat steps 1 – 7. :)

In most cases, the repeat process is not necessary. But this chocolate stain removal from carpet method works; try it. The reward is worth the effort. While it can be challenging to remove chocolate stains from carpet can be challenging, it can be done.
