Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups?

by Kris

Can you please tell me how long chocolate peanut butter cups are good for?

How do I store them?

Thank you

Hi Kris,

Are they homemade peanut butter cups or something like Reese's peanut butter cups?

Most chocolate covered peanut butter cups keep really well. I've stored them for many months (when I was on a diet). :)

I've kept them in the freezer and I've just left them at room temperature with fairly good results both ways.

If you freeze them, they may get discolored (but they taste just as good). So, if you are saving them for a special occasion (party, etc.) you may not want to freeze them.

If you do decide you need to freeze your candy, but you're concerned about discoloration, be sure to wrap it well and place it in an airtight container. It's a good idea to wrap the container, too, for extra protection.

When you thaw the peanut butter cups, allow them to return to room temperature while still wrapped to try to eliminate condensation.

If you don't want to take the chance, just store them in a good airtight container and away from items that have a strong smell.

You want to keep the candy somewhere that doesn't have extreme temperatures for the best results and longest shelf life.

Hope that helps.
Angie :)
