Chocolate Marshmallow
Pilgrim Hats

pilgrim hats
Try this clever recipe for
Chocolate Marshmallow Pilgrim Hats
and make an abundance of grins break out. They really are cute, and not at all difficult to make.

Maybe your children would like to make them to take to school during the Thanksgiving season. They are sure to be a hit with the whole class.

Candy recipes for kids are a fun way to work in the kitchen with your children and build family traditions. I love the memories that I have of joyful kitchen encounters. Your kids will too.

Chocolate Marshmallow Pilgrim Hats

  • 24 chocolate-striped cookies
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 24 large marshmallows
  • tube of yellow decorators' frosting

  1. Place the cookies face down on a waxed paper covered tray. Leave enough space between them to allow you to work with them.

  2. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave. If you use the microwave, be sure to stir it every 30 seconds, and don't overheat.

  3. Use a toothpick to hold the marshmallow and dip the marshmallow in the chocolate to cover it and then place it in the center of the cookie. (You can use another toothpick to help you pry off the first one. :)

  4. Chill the pilgrim hats. When they are set, you can use the yellow frosting to pipe a buckle on the front of the hat to give it the pilgrim look.

Ideas: Get creative and design other varieties of hats using this simple recipe. You can make a clown hat by using various colored icings for dots or stripes, etc. Let your imagination soar.

Supply Tip: You can get the colored frostings and many other candy making supplies like sprinkles or candy confetti and cello favor bags, etc. all at Candyland Crafts. I have such fun browsing through their online catalog. It gives me great ideas. Enjoy!
