Chocolate Lollipop Molds
For Fun And Versatility

lollipop bouquetChocolate Lollipop Molds are such a great way to make molded chocolate candy. Kids love them and they make lovely candy bouquets for special occasions.

Imagine an adorable bouquet for a new mom with teddy bears or storks in chocolate molded lollipops.

Another cute idea is a chocolate lollipop centerpiece made from holiday themed chocolate sucker molds. You could offer your guests a sweet selection at the end of a meal or party.

There are a couple of places where you can order these beautiful centerpieces online.

But wait, you can make them yourself. Molding chocolate lollipops is so easy, and it truly is a lot of fun. Your kids will love making them with you, or you could do them yourself as a delectable surprise for their birthday or other special occasion.

You only need a few items and you can get everything you need all in one place. Basically, you need to choose the molds, the chocolate, the sucker sticks, and the cellophane wrappers.

I'll give you my top recommendations for mold suppliers. My favorite is Candyland Crafts, but I also like One Stop Candle.

Both of these suppliers also carry the other items that I mentioned you will need. Personally, I go a little nuts when I start browsing these particular online stores. Chocolate lollipop molds and all the extras are so inexpensive, and delightfully fun. I have a terrible time making up my mind! :)

How To Make Chocolate Lollipop Molds:

  1. Get your supplies. Choose your molds, chocolates, sticks, wrappers, and twist ties or ribbons.

  2. Melt your chocolate. If you want to make them like the professionals for a wedding or for resale, it would be worth the effort to temper the chocolate.

Otherwise, you can melt the chocolate over a double boiler stirring until smooth. Alternately, you can use the microwave, but be very careful of overheating. Only microwave in 30 second increments, stirring each time.

merckens chocolate wafersIf you decide to use multi colored melts, you can melt them all at one time by placing them in small bowls and carefully setting them in a electric skillet with water in it and heated at a low temperature.

This is a little tip that helps when you are doing a lot of molded candy at one time of different colors or chocolate types. Clever, eh? Well, I can't take credit for thinking of it. I picked it up from another kind soul who uses chocolate lollipop molds. :)

  3. Fill your molds. If you decide to go with one solid color, like
molding lollipops dark chocolate, etc., all you have to do is pour or spoon the melted chocolate into the chosen molds, insert the lollipop sticks, and let them set.

When you insert the stick, give it a twist to fully cover it in chocolate and help it mold better.

If you want the chocolate to set more quickly, just pop it in the refrigerator or freezer for a bit.

  4. Wrap your chocolate lollipops. I like to use the little cellophane bags. They are really easy to slip over the top and secure around the stick with a little twist tie or a piece of ribbon.

If you want to use your chocolate lollipop molds to make a bouquet or centerpiece, you can get further details on making a chocolate candy bouquet.

Have fun and make someone smile!
