Chocolate Dipped Ant

My Chocolate Dipped Ant Experience...

There was a store that sold edible bugs. It sounded interesting to me so I decided to try it.

The guy simply poured ants into chocolate while they were still alive. He had a spoon shaped spatula to drain the extra chocolate from the ants. Then he put them on this paper to harden, bagged them, and, sold them to me.

They were delicious and now I cant find them anymore. So, I'm searching for ants and a recipe to make my own.

Oh my, Terry! As much as I love chocolate, I'm not quite sure I could manage to eat chocolate covered ants. :)

If you want to make your own ants dipped in chocolate, you don't really need a "recipe." All you need is the ants and some of your favorite chocolate.

You can melt the chocolate in the microwave for a minute or so, stirring every 30 seconds (don't burn it).

If you don't have a microwave, you can use a double boiler or a bowl set above a pot of lightly simmering water (just be sure not to get any moisture in the chocolate when melting.

Dip away!

If you make some chocolate covered ants, do take some photos and add them here. Seeing is believing!
