Chocolate Covered Sugar Wafers

by Adri
(Georgia)

I'm trying to make a piano cake for my daughter's birthday....I want to use sugar wafers to make the piano keys, but I wonder if they will hold up dipped in chocolate?

Hi Adri,

The piano cake sounds like a really cute idea. I think chocolate covered sugar wafers should work well.

I guess the most important thing to do to be sure that the wafers hold up well is to allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly before dipping the wafers.

You may have to play around with it slightly because you don't want it to cool so much that it's too thick to dip, but you don't want the chocolate so warm that it melts the cream in the wafer. :)

I would dearly love to see a picture of the cake when it is finished. Can you take a photo and share it with us here? Thanks!

~Angie
