Chocolate Covered Raspberries
Delicious, Decadent, and Delightful

Chocolate Covered Raspberries are one of life's true pleasures. My mom really loves them, especially if the raspberries are dipped in dark chocolate.

Chocolate dipped raspberries can be made from fresh ripe raspberries, or from dried raspberries. Fresh raspberries have to be eaten very quickly, but the dried ones will last a good while in an airtight container.

You will find a delicious selection of the dried variety at Salsa Express. I bought some for my mom on her last birthday and had them delivered. She loved them.

I personally, also love raspberry cream filled chocolates. You will drool over the ones at Fannie May Candies and Nirvana Chocolates. chocolate raspberryI get a little nuts with those. I can't stop at just one or two. I feel guilty just thinking about them. :)

Do raspberries grow locally in your area? You can make your own chocolate covered berries. Of course, you can purchase fresh berries from your local grocer as well.

Chocolate Covered Raspberry Recipe

  • fresh raspberries
  • chocolate chips or pieces

  1. Line a baking tray with waxed paper and set aside.

  2. Rinse the berries well and place upside down on a towel and dry completely.

  3. Melt chocolate in the top of a double boiler over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth.

For a much nicer result, consider getting some high quality chocolate from the Chocolate Source or from Candyland Crafts.

  4. Allow chocolate to cool slightly. Dip the rasberries in the melted chocolate one at a time and then place on the waxed paper lined tray to set.

  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve. These little beauties don't keep long, so you will want to eat them the same day.

How much easier could it be to make an indulgence that will make you and your guests feel truly pampered?

Serve your chocolate dipped raspberries along with some fresh raspberries for added color and to complement the rich chocolaty flavor.

Enjoy a chocolate covered raspberry for me!
