Chocolate Covered Raspberries Delicious, Decadent, and Delightful

chocolate covered raspberries

Chocolate Covered Raspberries are one of life's true pleasures!

My mom really loved raspberries covered in chocolate, especially if the chocolate happened to be dark chocolate.

I'm not quite as particular. I can be just as satisfied with dark or milk chocolate, and even settle for white chocolate if it's offered to me. :) You won't see me passing up a chocolate treat!

Chocolate dipped raspberries can be made from fresh ripe raspberries, or from dried raspberries. Fresh raspberries have to be eaten very quickly, but the dried ones will last a good while in an airtight container.

You will find a delicious selection of the dried variety online. I bought some for my mom on her last birthday and had them delivered. She loved them.

I personally, also love raspberry cream filled chocolates. You will drool over the ones at Fannie May Candies and some of the other companies from the selection that I've added at the bottom of this page. Mmmmmm!

I get a little nuts when it comes raspberry cream filled chocolate candy. I can't stop at just one or two. I feel guilty just thinking about them. :)

Do raspberries grow locally in your area? You can easily make your own chocolate covered berries. Of course, you can purchase fresh berries from your local grocer as well if you don't happen to live in a raspberry growing region.

Chocolate Covered Raspberry Recipe

  • fresh raspberries
  • chocolate chips or pieces

  1. Line a baking tray with waxed paper and set aside.

  2. Rinse the berries well and place upside down on a towel and dry completely.

  3. Melt chocolate in the top of a double boiler over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth.

    Here's a little tip:
The better the quality of chocolate, the more fantastic your chocolate raspberries are going to be. I'm fairly easy to please, but gourmet IS good! :)

  4. Allow chocolate to cool slightly. Dip the rasberries in the melted chocolate one at a time and then place on the waxed paper lined tray to set.

  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve. These little beauties don't keep long, so you will want to eat them the same day.

How much easier could it be to make an indulgence that will make you and your guests feel truly pampered?

Serve your chocolate dipped raspberries along with some fresh raspberries for added color and to complement the rich chocolaty flavor.

Enjoy a chocolate covered raspberry for me!
