Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Peanuts

How long will chocolate covered pretzels and peanuts last - and how do I store them? I thought it would be a fun thing for the kids to help with this year - just I totally don't know what I am doing. :)

Hi Helena,

Making chocolate covered pretzels and peanuts is a great idea for something fun to make with the kids for Christmas this year.

Never fear. It's a piece of cake! All you have to do is melt some chocolate (you can even melt the chocolate in the microwave if you like - just stir every 30 seconds so you don't over heat).

Dip the pretzels and place them on waxed paper to set. For the peanuts, you may want to mix all the nuts at once and then spoon them in small piles on the waxed paper - raisins are good/yummy too covered in chocolate!

How long will chocolate covered pretzels and peanuts last? That depends on how much self discipline you and your kids have! Grin. No, I know what you mean...

If you keep your chocolate covered peanuts and pretzels in an airtight container, they'll last for several weeks. You could use a Christmas tin, a glass jar, or some other airtight container.

If you only need to store them for a couple of weeks, you could keep them in cellophane bags or ziploc bags.

I hope you and the kids have a great time making goodies and making memories!

Merry Christmas!
Angie
