Chocolate Covered Apples Cracking (by Dennyse Gonzales)
What can you do about chocolate covered apples cracking?
I am using granny smith apples...took paper towel to rough it up...dipped and refrigerated.
When I sliced it, all the chocolate fell off of it...
Help I need to make 100!

"How do you keep the chocolate from cracking on a caramel apple?"

Hi Roe and Dennyse,
This question has been asked before. There are a couple of suggestions about how to keep chocolate covered apples from cracking over on these pages...
Did you allow the apples to return to room temperature before cutting them? If the chocolate was cold, that's another reason why the chocolate may have cracked and fallen off the apples.
If they were cold when you sliced them, try either not refrigerating them, or letting them completely return to room temperature before slicing to see if it makes any difference.
Hope one of these suggestions will help you come up with the desired results. Sounds like you are having a big shindig! :) Hope they turn out well.
If you can take some photos, we'd love to see them.
Best regards,
Angie
