Chocolate Chips Accidentally Melted

by Malisa J
(Macomb, MI)

My chocolate chips accidentally melted in my car. I put them in the fridge and they hardened. Can I still temper/melt them and use for chocolate covered pretzels?

Will the chocolate taste OK?

Hi Malisa,

Yes, you can certainly still use the chocolate chips. Chocolate can be melted and re-used repeatedly, believe it or not.

Enjoy making your chocolate covered pretzels. If they are just for your own family and don't have to be "professional" looking, you don't really have to even go to the trouble of tempering the chocolate. I rarely do! :)

Thanks Angie, that makes me feel better. I wasn't completely sure. It's for my babyshower so I wanted to make sure they were perfect :)

Chocolate Pretzels for Baby Shower
by: Angie

In that case, you may want to go ahead and temper the chocolate for the chocolate pretzels for your baby shower if you really want to get the best results.

Personally, I probably wouldn't, but I'm a bit lazy like that. If you have a tempering machine it's no trouble at all, but it can be a little tedious otherwise.

I hope you'll show us some photos of the finished chocolate pretzels when you're done!

Congratulations!!!
