Chocolate chip brownies are one of life's great delights!
If you agree with me, I've got another great brownie recipe for you to try.
When it comes to brownies, there are all different types. You've got crunchy, soft, fudgie, fluffy, iced, dense, with or without nuts, you name it.
I love them all! :)
This weekend we had some friends come over to spend the day with us. They know well my love of chocolate, and the delightful Emily (aged 16) made up a special batch of brownies to tempt me.
They were so, so good. I'm embarrassed to admit that I ate three large brownies on Saturday.
I simply couldn't help myself!
Emily got this chocolate chip brownie recipe from another teenage friend and then played around with it a bit to get it just the way she liked it.
I asked Em to take a few photos and pass the recipe on to me so I could share it with YOU, and she agreed. So, without further ado...
Any time you get ready to make a recipe, it's always "best practice" to pull out all of your ingredients and tools needed to be sure you have everything on hand.
This makes the process a lot easier and you can whip up a batch of brownies in just minutes (apart from the baking time, of course).
Here's what you'll need to create Emily's brownies with chocolate chips:
***Preheat your oven to 170 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). You can adjust the temperature slightly up or down to get the level of crunch you prefer on the crust or to allow for an oven that runs hot, etc.

In a large bowl, add the ingredients one at a time, giving a good stir between each addition.
|
Once you've got a stiff mixture of the liquid and powder ingredients, it's time to stir in the chocolate chips.

Line your brownie pan with baking paper (or lightly butter the pan if you prefer).
|
Pop your baking tray into the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes until done. You can poke a knife or skewer into the center of the brownies to see if they are done. It should come out mostly clean.

This brownie recipe results in a kind of fudge brownie. It has little secret bits of chocolate chunks with a nice dense and moist consistency. If that sounds like your kind of brownie, this is your kind of recipe.
Give it a try and let me (and Emily) know what you think. :)
Are you convinced you've eaten the best brownies in the world? If so, tell us about it. It may be a recipe passed down from Grandma. Or, maybe it was a brownie that you ate in a restaurant or purchased from a quaint little shop somewhere. Give directions! :)
Seriously, though, let's see who comes up with the best brownie creations of all time. Submit yours and we can all judge and comment for ourselves.
