Candy Will Not Come Out Of Candy Mold

by Suzette Tasik
(Hagerstown, MD)

What do you do when candy will not come out of candy mold?

I am making Easter candy using a mold and the base that holds the rabbit is rather thick. I am using the candy discs.

I put them in the freezer for a good while but the base the thick part I can not get it to come out of the mold. If I tap too hard part of it comes out and part stays in the mold.

Hi Suzette,

Have you tried rubbing a little vegetable oil on the candy mold first before filling it? This is often helpful, particularly if the molds haven't been used before.

Give that a try and see if you get better results this time. Let us know...

Blessings,
Angie

P.S. By the way, we'd love to see your homemade Easter candy when you get it done. How about taking some photos and sharing them with us on the Chocolate Easter Candy page.
