Did you know that you can buy your candy thermometer on eBay if you want to find a bargain or a specific type or brand that you're searching for?
Maybe you're just an eBay addict and love to do your shopping for candy making supplies online. :) That works too!
Any serious candy maker understand the importance of good quality and accurate candy thermometers.
When bringing candy to the boil, you need to be sure you are getting the mixture to just the right temperature. Too hot and the candy will get to hard or even burn. Not hot enough and the candy won't set firmly enough.
Now that would be a tragedy!
If you're wanting to buy a candy thermometer but are not quite sure how to use it properly or what temperatures you are aiming for, don't worry. It's really not that hard once you get the gist of it.
Take a few a minutes to read about candy syrup stages if you are struggling and that should help you wrap your head around it. However, if you're already at the buying stage, you may have already grasped the basics and just want to shop now.
By shopping for a thermometer for candy making on eBay, you can usually view a wide range of different types of candy thermometers and choose the one that you feel will suit you the best.
Obviously, because eBay is an auction site, the listings change daily (even hourly), but that just makes the search even more fun in my opinion.
Not only that, you can save quite a bit of money if you happen to catch an auction that no one else is bidding on at the moment. For something as obscure as a candy thermometer, you have a really good chance of picking up a bargain!
Here's what eBay has to offer today in the area of good quality candy thermometers. Enjoy the hunt!
That's a great selection of thermometers for candy making! Who would have thought so many would be listed on a place like eBay?!
I do generally like to purchase my supplies from local shops and/or some of my favorite vendors, but I also like to save money. I can't tell you how many times I've priced products in the store and then found a much better deal on eBay.
You do have to factor in the postage costs and the time delay of shipping, of course. Even with those considerations, so many times eBay comes out on top in my comparisons. Have you snagged some great eBay bargains? Today just might be your lucky day!
