Can You Paint The Outside Of A Hard Candy Lollipop?

by Katherine Hart
(Pennsylvania , USA)

Can you paint the outside of a hard candy lollipop?

I'm trying to make lollipops for a wedding coming up. I'm using a rosebud mold, but I want it to look authentic in the way that the color of the petals and the color of the leaves are different.

I don't have a lot of resources or time to try to balance out how add the two different colors properly with out mixing the colors.

I was think if it was possible to paint the leaves with an edible, non translucent paint that it will be enough to satisfy the look with out all the fuss.

I'm still really new at candy making so I'm not even sure if it would work or not. Any suggestions and advice would be lovely.
