Almond Bark Or Chocolate Chips

by Tracey

What is the difference between using almond bark or chocolate chips/wafers to make chocolate lollipops?

I want to make chocolate pops for a baby shower. I purchased almond bark for the first time and not sure if they should be used to mold chocolate pops.

I have used in the past chocolate chips or wafers and worked fine. Should I stick with them instead?

Hi Tracey,

Almond bark is fine to use for making chocolate lollipops.

Just realize that almond bark is more of a vanilla flavored imitation chocolate (if that makes any sense) as it doesn't usually contain any cocoa butter.

Just taste it. If you like the taste, go ahead and use it like you would normally use chocolate chips or chocolate wafers.

We'd love to see your finished lollipops for the baby shower. You can show them off and tell us how you liked working with the almond bark on the chocolate candy making molds page.
