A Valentine's Day For One

by Marie

The box of chocolates I ordered!

The box of chocolates I ordered!

I'm having a Valentine's Day for one!

This year, I am celebrating Valentine's Day like never before. Even though I am single, I have adorned my house with pink scented candles, red flowers, and I have just ordered a box of my favorite childhood candy confections from See's Candies.

I plan on renting a romantic movie on the night of and cooking a gourmet meal for one. Why should the couples have all the fun? Being single was never so fun.

Hi Marie,

I think it's a lovely idea to have a Valentine's Day for one celebration. :) Why not?

As long as it doesn't make you sad, I say go for it!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Angie

Valentine's Day For One NEW
by: Angie

Hi Marie,

Just checking in with you this year to see if you have found a special someone to share Valentines Day with this year.

I'm a hopeless romantic, so I'd love to hear about it! :)

Even if you haven't, never mind! There's some lovely things you can do to share Valentines Day with someone, even if it isn't a "romantic" expression.

For instance, this year I found some lovely chocolate roses at one of my local stores. The rose bud is chocolate covered in red foil and attached to a an artificial flower stem (you know, those plastic green ones).

Anyway, I visit in the nursing home each week and I know some elderly widow ladies there who would love to get a little treat like that. It's a simple and inexpensive way to share the occasion with someone else and really make their day. In fact, I can almost guarantee that it will make your day, too! :)

That's just one little idea, and I'm sure some of you have many others.

What can you do when you are forced to celebrate a Valentine's Day for one?

Take a minute and share your ideas with us!
