I can hardly believe we've finished another year already. The Lord has been so good to me in 2007, but I can hardly wait to see what blessings are in store for 2008! I do love the start of a new year. It seems like everything is fresh and there is a clean slate. I look forward to filling it full of good things!

January 1, 2008 - Issue #8

Did you experience something spectacular in the world of chocolate over the Christmas holidays?

Take the time to tell us all about it - and share a photo if you were lucky enough to capture it all on camera. It's quite simple.

Don't worry - it is as easy as can be. Once your page is built, you can send it to your friends for them to rate and comment. It's a lot of fun, so don't be shy!


I thought it would be nice to start the new year off with a new recipe. I discovered a yummy little treat that I wanted to pass on to you. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Strawberry Fudge Balls

fudge balls or truffles Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounces) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/4 cup strawberry preserves
  • 3/4 cup vanilla wafer crumbs (or other crushed cookies)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted almonds or pecans

  1. Using a mixer, beat the cream cheese until nice and creamy.
  2. Add the melted chocolate and continue beating until smooth.
  3. Stir in the cookie crumbs and strawberry preserves until well combined. Chill, covered, for an hour.
  4. Scoop mixture out and shape into balls. Roll in the chopped nuts and chill.

These little mouthfuls are really delicious. They will be a nice addition to any special occasion. Oh, go ahead. Don't wait for a special occasion. Splurge and make them for yourself - you know you want to. :-)

I'm keeping this newsletter short as this is such a busy time of year for everyone. I don't want to "wear out my welcome." :-)

I did want to pass on this bit of news to any of you who have been thinking about the whole idea of working at home this year. I'm more amazed than anyone that I have been able to build Chocolate Candy Mall. It's been a challenge and a thrill to take it on and succeed.
